Fish tail mountain

The local Nepali name of this mountain is macchaapucchre - derived from the sanskrit word machcha puccha where the former stands for fish and the later tail. This is one of the beautiful peak in the annapurna range of mountains. Elevation -6,993 m (22,943 ft), Prominence-1,233 m (4,045 ft)

  1. wow thats a great landscape seeing a 7 km high mountain just before the eyes,wonder in eyes, the name comes from sanskrit Matsya(fish) +Puchchham(tail),the right side of the picture you would see the curvature which typically looks like EEL fish tail.......no country has such powerful beauty that stops the chills from North ,due to which there is a considerable effect on temperatures around the world.........

      I thought the same . But there the Pichchu means peak and Macchu means Old. may be. But You cant point out much relation of East and America in 1400 AD as such..
